I haven't posted for awhile. A mix of being busy, not having much to say or not being able to put things into words. It's an interesting time though and I guess I'm growing more optimistic with each passing day.
However while I'm not writing, I am reading. It's good to see that the blogs I read seem to share my optimism for the future. That and books but more of them in a later post.
This weekend, apart from a couple of hours of work. Will consist of a bit of cooking, a wander and the latest James Bond movie. Plenty of nose blowing as well, I already have my pre Christmas man flu :-)

Onwards and upwards in the pursuit of fulfillment and happyness :-)

I just got over some creepy crud... I'm sure I picked it up from 'my' kids at work. Went thru a boxcar of tissue. Ugh. Hope you feel better soon.

I wondered why you hadn't been posting. I'm glad you're doing fine. :)

Thanks Aims, it seems to be going during the day but just as you get into bed the cough starts and you wake up at some ungodly hour with a throat that feels gavel lined. So strictly speaking I'm only ill at night :-)

Things I've tried.

1. Apple Cider Vinegar. A small amount mixed with the same amount of water. Drunk about half an hour before bed. It's supposed to aid better digestion and help you sleep. I have to say it seems to work and I've been doing this for about a month now.

2. Magnesium supplements. There's a link to a article in the "Maybe of interest" box below. I tried this for about a month in the summer of 2010. I can't say I noticed a difference. It may well be, that I don't have a magnesium deficiency, hence no noticeable improvement but I guess a month wasn't really long enough.

3. Honey before bed. I read something about the body suffering from a lack of something whilst you sleep and a spoon full of honey an hour before bed helps counteracts this. So I've been trying this and although It's early days, I'm finding getting up a bit easier. It's also supposed to help with weight loss too. There's a link below.

4. the 28 Day habit. Well depending on what you find on the web it's anything from six months, 28 or 21 Days. The link makes interesting reading. It helps, if you do the same thing at the same time in the same place. The more senses you employ in the task helps the brain map it out for the future.

5. Vitamin B and St. John's Wort supplements. No real noticeable difference.

6. Ginseng extract. It's a thick brown goo. You mix a tiny amount with (hot) water twice a day. I mix the evening one with the honey. Early days yet, I'll kept you posted.

7. Amino Acids. I'm taking l'argine at the moment. I was also taking l'lysine. There are several, which all help in different ways. I've dropped the l'lysine for the moment as further reading suggests they compete with each other (something to do with receptors). It's early days but I have noticed brusies (tall bloke+ tight working places = bruises) clear up quicker.
